member club unit “MNKC" Kicks Off in Shibuya

On Sunday, October 4, 2026, FRONTERA will hold “FRONTERA FIESTA with MNKC," a launch party for the eight-member club unit MNKC at SOBER in Shibuya, Tokyo. The event will feature Nory Kimijima from MATSUMOTO ZOKU BAND, Mori from Dongurizu, and Kento Yoshioka of Japanese Super Rat, and more.

Part 1 of the event will be comprised of MNKC’s first live performance, limited to just 50 attendees. There will also be a DJ set by Nory Kimijima, as well as a special “Rec Live" session where the audience can participate.

Part 2 of the event will feature a live performance by MNKC bringing together artists active in various scenes both domestically and internationally—including KZA, SUNGA, SAMO, YOSHIROTTEN, and LOUIS SHANNON. As an all-night party running from 8:00 PM until 5:00 AM the next morning, we’ll create a special night to celebrate the launch of MNKC—a space where music, club culture, art, fashion, and street culture intersect.

What is MNKC?

MNKC is an eight-member club unit produced by FRONTERA, consisting of two MCs and one DJ. The members are Nory Kimijima from MATSUMOTO ZOKU BAND, Mori from Dongurizu, and Kento Yoshioka from Japanese Super Rat.

What does MNKC mean? Rather than give a clear answer like music groups often do, they actively embrace rumors and urban legends alike into their aesthetic.

“Rumor has it the name comes from a certain cryptocurrency." “Word on the street is they have this addictive vibe that gets everyone dancing!" “Apparently someone on Yahoo! Answers said that snitches can never be real hip-hop heads."

True? Or just rumors?

MNKC leaves the lines beautifully blurred as it kicks off its activities. They aim to evolve as a collective that seamlessly crosses into art, fashion, and street culture. They’re definitely one to watch!

To celebrate the launch of MNKC, FRONTERA will release original “FRONTERA FIESTA with MNKC" T-shirts, as well as avocado-shaped clicker keychains inspired by their debut song, “AVOCADO." The front of the T-shirts feature the FRONTERA logo and the key visual for this event, while the back is accented with a single MNKC graphic logo. The items are meant not just as a way to commemorate the event, but as cultural items that give fans a way to bring FRONTERA / MNKC into their daily lives.
