1.Dark red contrast collar shirt by Takashimaya
I had this contrast collar shirt made at Takashimaya Shinjuku Store back in August 2018.
The fabric is from a Belgian luxury fabric maker called Scabal, founded in 1938. It has a distinct sheen and feels great against the skin, and it’s no wonder the brand is known for supplying some of the fabric for the wardrobe used in films such as The Wolf of Wall Street and Casino Royale.
When I chose the fabric at the store, I assumed I’d chosen a plain dark red fabric. But when I finally had a chance to behold the completed shirt, I noticed it had a degree of iridescence: from an angle it looks brown, and from another it looks blueish. (As our TV show is shot in front of a blue screen, I became a little worried that the shirt would cause problems, but it ended up being fine.)
2.Mahogany socks by Tabio
These are “Men’s Wide Ribbed Socks" (972 yen, tax incl.) in mahogany, which I bought at the Tabio Omotesando Hills store. These are one of the brand’s most popular pairs of casual socks; they worked great with the leather shoes I wore this day, and they would work great with sneakers as well.
